Biographical interview with Adriana Puiggrós

Figures of the stature of Adriana Puiggrós contain in themselves multiple dimensions, all of enormous wealth and impossible to pay off in one go. Under the auspices of Educación y Vínculos, we invite her to discuss the pedagogical task and the role of teachers –a topic on which she has already left a great work–, based on the thread of her own journey and the multiple experiences of learning and magisteriums in which she participated.
In this open interview, posed as a biographical conversation through the screens imposed by the pandemic, certain transversal nuclei repeatedly emerge: education and politics, what did you teach-what did you learn, some bridges –not so broken– between renewal and tradition, and deployment of an all-terrain intellectual. Along with her voluminous and essential academic work, there are artistic productions (from the desire to be a plastic artist to some forays into the field of fiction), combat essays, and a political-legislative work whose legacy we have not yet been able to measure. A first hypothesis: we are facing a transdisciplinary intellectual, a trans pedagogue.
In this back and forth between life and work, the Adriana who speaks here, whom we know has been among us since September 12, 1941, and the one that stands timeless in his academic, essayistic, literary texts (and why not also his political work). And this fertile dialogue about the teachers and their teachers, going through the founding relationships of the pedagogical event, the folds of resistance, alternatives and aporias will be revealed in front of the cemetery of order and hegemony, a Latin Americanist epistemology (a search for truth) will emerge and a total intellectual praxis: politics and education, theory and practice, creation and intervention.
