The interest on the subject of care has been increasing lately, specially concerning the sanitary condition due to the pandemic of COVID-19. One of the relevant aspects in these contexts is to take care of the people in charge of caring. One of the dimensions it approaches emphasizes on the problematization of the concept of “heroic subjectivity”, as well as some tools to focus on self care.
In these conversations Elena de la Aldea, a key informant with more than 50 years of professional experience, provides fundamental and enriching problematizations to think about self care in professionals who work in constant connection with suffering or vulnerability of certain populations.
Elena de la Aldea has a degree in Psychology (University of Buenos Aires) and Magister on Psychology (Catholic University of Louvain, Belgium), where she also studied her Doctorate. She is a Group Analyst (Mexican Association for the Analytic Group Therapy) and a professor in many careers, for graduate and postgraduate degrees in many Universities in many countries. She also has written many papers and books on teamwork, about communities, caring of those who take care, heroic subjectivity and the care.
