Abstract

This article is a descriptive reflective analysis of the progress of my ongoing doctoral research corresponding to the Doctorate in Communication (FPyCS UNLP). The general objective of the research is to analyze the uses and appropriations of communication technologies by high school students and teachers from Greater La Plata during the health emergency caused by covid 19 (school year 2020). In this work we will analyze, from the field of communication / education, the main dimensions that emerged from the fieldwork approach interviews, carried out by video call applications to five students from secondary schools in the La Plata district, dependent on the National University of La Plata UNLP and the General Directorate of Schools of the Province of Buenos Aires DGCyE.

We seek with this document to establish initial conversations in analytical terms in relation to the processes experienced by students, the scope and limitations of national and provincial public policies, possible (re) questions to our research topic / problem, place where we live In the ethnographic field, experienced methodological strategy decisions. In this line, the distribution of the article consists of two central axes: 1) the first of them calls for discussions in relation to the field of communication / education, communication technologies and lines of research in general features that have as The objective is to analyze the links from or between subjects in the educational field (in a broad sense), technological devices and public policies. There, we will describe some lines synthetically on the field to account for the importance of recovering these productions, what they contribute, what elements are substantial to think about our investigative process. Second, 2) we will analyze the conversations with the intermediate level students. In this sense, we will address how unforeseen discussions emerge regarding experiences regarding the 2020 school year, the relationship with communication technologies, educational and communicational practices and knowledge among students and teachers, the role of the State in assistance for permanence and pedagogical continuity through virtual environments or distance education based on public policies launched at this juncture and others launched in the past.
