Dora Barrancos- biographical interview- feminism- social science- rightsAbstract
We spoke with Dora Barrancos, an activist, academic and feminist woman. We began with personal appreciations regarding her as a key figure in the reconstruction of a genealogy of feminist academics. During the interview, she shared with us the mentors who shaped her sensitivity to social issues and her approach to feminism. We also talked about her interventions in gender policy when she served as a director at CONICET, and about the difficulties faced by women academics while trying to reconcile paid work and care work. Finally, Dora makes a diagnosis of sexual citizenship in recent Argentina, and outlines the current challenges facing the social sciences and humanities in terms of expanding rights and creating conditions for social equality.
